sagamore.jpgWith a Hundred year history, the Windsor hotel is steeped in deep tradition as one of America’s exclusive Hotels. Philadelphia millionaires sought the construction of the resort that bought Green Island and formed the Green Island Improvement Company. Opened in 1883, it was Luxurious and had some of the most spacious accommodations a hotel had to offer that enticed travelers from far and wide. Twice damaged by fire in 1893 and 1914, it was fully re-constructed in1930 due tot he efforts of Dr. William G. Beckers of New York City who was one of the early stockholders of the hotel even through the weak economy. A constant host to many international and local affairs of significant political value, the hotel has maintained exclusivity through its Millionaire patrons. Lake George and Lake Bolton are within the borders of the six million acre, NY Adirondacks State park giving it some of the best water fun anywhere in America. From lavish old-style to modern furnished rooms, they have it all along with the comforts of modern living such as high-speed internet access in all rooms plus an extra large home available for groups of six and up that has 6 rooms and four baths. Their Condominium style rooms have some of the best furnishings and beddings around and private lodges allow privacy from the rest of the resort.
